Lego Mindstorms: Building and Programming

3:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Wilmington-Stroop
Community Room

Event Details

Lego Mindstorms are sophisticated sets of Lego Technic bricks, beams, axles and gears that come with an 'intelligent brick,' called the EV3, which acts as a robot's computer brain.  Patrons will be building robots with the sets and learning how to program their creations using the library's laptops, on which they will use software provided by Lego.  Because of the number of sets, and their expense, this program is only open to 16 patrons between the ages of 11 and 18.  Patrons are encouraged to attend each of the seven sessions over the winter, as we will be building on the knowledge they acquire. This program will be geared to patrons with no previous experience with Lego Mindstorms.  The materials for this series of programs were funded by a grant from the Friends of the Library.
