Stop by this week, bring a shovel and bucket, and choose from a variety of cone flowers, day lilies, hostas, butterfly bush and lilies of the valley. (You’ll need to do your own digging.) Maggie Stiefvater Fan Art Contest

Teens residing in Montgomery County are invited to show their creativity in a fan art contest celebrating our upcoming visit from YA superstar author Maggie Stiefvater (The Scorpio Races, The Shiver Trilogy, and The Raven Cycle).  

Entries will be accepted October 1-October 31, 2016 via email to jfulwood@daytonmetrolibrary.org or in person at each branch location. Winners will be announced and prizes awarded before About the Book with Maggie Stiefvater. Because the contest is in celebration of Ms Stiefvater's visit, entries should incorporate a subject from her work. We suggest ravens, wolves, tarot art, cool cars, magical forests, or character art but will accept any connected art. Entries will be accepted in the following categories: 
  • Grades 7-9 Drawing (Ink, Pencil, Charcoal, etc.)
  • Grades 7-9 Painting (Oil, watercolor, pastel, acrylic, etc)
  • Grades 7-9 Photography (digital or film)
  • Grades 7-9 Digital
  • Grades 7-9 Mixed Media (collage, etc)
  • Grades 10-12 Drawing (Ink, Pencil, Charcoal, etc.)
  • Grades 10-12 Painting (Oil, watercolor, pastel, acrylic, etc)
  • Grades 10-12 Photography (digital or film)
  • Grades 10-12 Digital
  • Grades 10-12 Mixed Media (collage, etc)
Prizes in each category will be $100 for first place, $75 for second place, and $50 for third place, plus book swag.
