Teen Playwright Contest

If you're an aspiring playwright, this is your chance to shine!  Submit an 8-15 minute full scene written in English and saved as a PDF by emailing contest@daytonmetrolibrary.org. Please number the pages of your script and include on your title page only: a cast list, your name, email, phone, school, and grade.  No musicals or children's plays will be accepted.  Your work must be your own original work, not be previously published or performed, and Dayton Metro Library reserves the right to not select a winner.  Winners in each category (Grades 7-8, 9-10, and 11-12) will be featured as a stage reading at the awards ceremony on December 14th.  Writers must be available for workshops and rehearsals.  Winners will be announced 11-16-19 at the StoryCon: Teen program at the Main Library.

Teen Fiction Contest

Are you a teen author? Have you always wanted to be a teen author? This is your chance.  Submit your entry via email to contest@daytonmetrolibrary.org during the month of November.  Entries will be accepted in four categories: Grades 7-9  Flash Fiction (500 words or less), Grades 10-12 Flash Fiction (500 words or less), Grades 7-9 General Fiction (500-2000 words), and Grades 10-12 General Fiction (500-2000 words).  Winners will be awarded Amazon Gift Cards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each category.

About the Book with Teri Clark Linden, Audio Book Narrator

Ever wondered what it takes to narrate an audio book, or what’s changed in the audio book industry from books on tape days to today? Audio book narrator (nearly 200 titles on Audible) and professional stage, screen and voice-over actress Teri Clark Linden will talk about her journey into audio book narrating, working from her home studio and how she’s seen the world of audio books expand over the last decade.

Teri Clark Linden, American Actress & Narrator represented by Stewart Talent, NY, & narrates on site, or from her state of the art Whisper Room studio. Her performances from Shakespeare to new plays at Jeff Daniels Purple Rose Theatre, in films (JACK REACHER, SUPER 8) & voicing hundreds of commercials make it easy creating just the right tone, character & dialect for author's works. Teri's narrated nearly 200 titles.
