Teens residing in Montgomery County are invited to stretch their creativity in our annual Teen Fiction Writing Contest. Entries will be accepted January 3-February 17, 2016 via email to firstname.lastname@example.org or in person at each branch location. Winners will be announced and prizes awarded at an awards ceremony on March 18th at the Northwest Branch. Entries will be accepted in the following categories:
Grades 7-9 Flash Fiction (Up to 500 words)
Grades 7-9 General Fiction (500-2000 words)
Grades 7-9 Fan Fiction (up to 2000 words)
Grades 10-12 Flash Fiction (Up to 500 words)
Grades 10-12 General Fiction (500-2000 words)
Grades 10-12 Fan Fiction (up to 2000 words)
Prizes in each category will be $100 for first place, $75 for second place, and $50 for third place. The Dayton Metro Library Friends are generously sponsoring this contest.

Chess boxing is a fully developed competitive sport popular in Europe and governed by the World Chess Boxing Association. It combines the mental game of Chess, with the physical sport of boxing. Our just-for-fun version will feature Wii Boxing so nobody gets hurt!
