Teens residing in Montgomery County are invited to stretch their creativity in our annual Teen Fiction Writing Contest. Entries will be accepted January 3-February 17, 2016 via email to email@example.com or in person at each branch location. Winners will be announced and prizes awarded at an awards ceremony on March 18th at the Northwest Branch. Entries will be accepted in the following categories:
Grades 7-9 Flash Fiction (Up to 500 words)
Grades 7-9 General Fiction (500-2000 words)
Grades 7-9 Fan Fiction (up to 2000 words)
Grades 10-12 Flash Fiction (Up to 500 words)
Grades 10-12 General Fiction (500-2000 words)
Grades 10-12 Fan Fiction (up to 2000 words)
Prizes in each category will be $100 for first place, $75 for second place, and $50 for third place. The Dayton Metro Library Friends are generously sponsoring this contest.

What better way to show someone you care than with a handmade card? Anna Smith, an independent Stampin' Up! demonstrator, will teach you how to make two handmade cards- one basic card and one using a special technique.
Both beginners and experienced crafters are welcome. Registration is required.
The Dayton Chapter of SCORE, a national network of experienced entrepreneurs and corporate managers, offer free one-on-one counseling sessions. For counseling sessions held at Huber Heights branch library, first priority will be given to VETERANS interested in starting a business or in growing an existing business. Teens looking for part-time work are invited to attend the Teen Job Fair, presented by H2C Career Consulting. Come meet employers looking to hire permanent and/or seasonal part-time teen candidates. Dress appropriately, and come ready for success! Please note: the Teen Job Fair is ONLY open to those ages 14 to 18 years old.
