Being Mortal Screening

Dayton Metro Library and VITAS Healthcare are collaborating to hold a free, community screening of the PBS Frontline documentary "Being Mortal." Based on the nationally best selling book of the same name, "Being Mortal" follows author and surgeon Dr. Atul Gawande as he shares the importance of people planning ahead and talking with family members about end-of-life decisions. After the screening, audience members can participate in a guided conversation about how to take concrete steps to identify and communicate wishes about end-of-life goals and preferences.  

The free screening is made possible by a grant from The John and Wauna Harman Foundation in partnership with the Hospice Foundation of America.

What does President Trump most need to know about our region? WYSO Public Radio wants to hear from you, your family, your friends and your neighbors. Write a letter to the President (no more than 300 words) and record it at the Library today! No appointment is necessary. Your letter will be recorded by a WYSO producer. 

WYSO is collecting the letters for a special story series to be broadcast later this year. Your recording may be featured on the air!

NASA's New Horizons is taking a journey so that we can better understand the worlds at the edge of our solar system. On July 14, 2015, it successfully flew past Pluto and its moons. Examine New Horizon's path there and some spectacularly detailed images of Pluto and its main moon, Charon. Survey some of the spacecraft's instruments and learn what comes next for New Horizons.
