Event Details

David Lee Garrison will read some of his poems and talk about how he got into writing.  He will then offer some suggestions about getting started as a poet and getting poems into print.  Finally, he will give a writing prompt so that anyone who wants to can give poetry a try. Please register in advance.
The poetry of retired Wright State professor David Lee Garrison has appeared widely in journals and anthologies, and two poems from his book Sweeping the Cemetery were read by Garrison Keillor on The Writer’s Almanac.  He won the Paul Laurence Dunbar Poetry Prize in 2009 and was named Ohio Poet of the Year in 2014.
